Chapter 2: The Growing Pains of CTO Cat (Ages 6-7)

By the time CTO turned 6, his curiosity about blockchains had only grown sharper, though his patience was wearing thin. After the chaos of BlockaMess and the rigidity of StableChain, he was eager for something new, something promising. That’s when CTO stumbled upon Solana, the so-called “speed demon” of blockchains.
The Allure of Speed
At first, Solana seemed like a dream come true. Its flashy marketing promised “lightning-fast transactions” and “an ecosystem built for the future.” CTO was captivated. He imagined his little digital paws zipping through transactions and building complex dApps without any delays.
“Finally,” he thought, “a blockchain that actually works!”
With newfound enthusiasm, CTO jumped in, transferring his fish tokens and digital catnip to Solana. At first, everything seemed perfect:
Transactions flew through the network like shooting stars.
CTO could create apps faster than ever before, adding virtual paw prints to the ecosystem.
But the honeymoon didn’t last long.
The Eternal Halts Begin
One sunny morning, CTO sat at his desk, trying to transfer a fish token to his friend. Instead of the instant confirmation he had grown used to, he stared at his screen as nothing happened.
“Hmm, maybe it’s just a glitch,” CTO thought.
Hours turned into days, and CTO learned the truth: Solana was down. The entire network had stopped functioning. Panic spread across the blockchain ecosystem, but CTO, now a seasoned skeptic, sighed and muttered: "Fast? You can’t go fast if you can’t even go at all."
And this wasn’t a one-time issue. The outages became frequent:
Sudden Network Stops: Solana would freeze entirely, leaving CTO’s transactions stuck in limbo.
Blame the Degens: Whenever the network crashed, the team pointed fingers at bots, degens, or “unexpected demand.” CTO couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
One day, after losing an entire morning to a transaction that never processed, CTO sat back in his chair and sarcastically meowed: "Solana: where you’re either the fastest... or not moving at all!"
A Bitter Lesson
By the age of 7, CTO had become disillusioned. Solana’s promises of speed felt hollow when its reliability was nonexistent. But instead of giving up, CTO learned another critical lesson:
“It doesn’t matter how fast you are if you can’t be consistent.”
These experiences sharpened CTO’s sarcasm and made him even more skeptical of flashy claims. He started to develop his signature attitude—quick to point out flaws, unapologetically honest, and never afraid to laugh at the chaos around him.
The Turning Point
Despite the frustrations, CTO grew stronger. He became more determined to find the blockchain that could deliver not just speed, but reliability, scalability, and real innovation. Solana had taught him what not to trust, but he was still searching for the one that would change everything.
Little did he know, his journey was far from over.
